Professional University Guidance
At RBIS we assist our Sixth Formers with university applications, jobs and scholarships. Part of that is the Head of Sixth Form having Individual meetings with students each term in order to create and update student profiles which showcase their academic and non-academic achievements. For each child the admission requirements for their preferred universities are looked up and shared with teachers and personal advice is given on how to apply successfully.
Besides that open house and international university fair dates are regularly shared with parents via email. All of the fairs are located in Bangkok and each time information is provided about different universities and colleges across the world under a single roof. In fact, these kinds of fairs are more influential in comparison to online sources in giving details as you get first-hand knowledge of everything from their own representatives.
In order to support those students who would like to continue their further studies in Thailand, we also arrange some of the country’s best universities to come to RBIS to give an information session to students and parents. Each presentation is developed to suit the needs of our students and provides information such as common concerns that affect a student’s decision on applying to University, the benefits of higher education in general, the factors that students should consider when choosing a particular course or institution, a summary of how to apply, guidance on what admissions officers are looking for in a competitive personal statement, including content and structure etc.
In 2019 we had the following universities visiting us: Thammasat University International College (TUIC), Mahidol University International College (MUIC), Rangsit University (international programme) , Silpakorn University, etc.
Once a year we also visit a university campus to experience what university life is like, attend a lecture, have a chat with undergraduate students, learn about admission procedures, etc (2019: MUIC)
During the annual RBIS Work Experience Week our students complete one week of work in their company of choice in Bangkok. In preparation for the event students also gain skills in writing CVs, applying for jobs and job interviews.
